I really liked the ideas in this video and decided to apply them myself. I don't have the aerosol lacquer but I do have the brush on style. I haven't seen how the aerosol is so I cannot compare, but I am pleased with the results of the brush on. It goes on thicker than the spray stuff, so I only do one coat, and for my needs, it is enough.

The other thing that he talks about that I didn't catch the first time I watched this video was the Mod Podge base coat. I actually caught this during the pillars video and went back a few videos to see if he mentioned his ratio or formula or anything. I haven't seen him mention that yet, and I haven't asked him directly, cause I wanted to just play around with it. I do a 25/75 water to paint (usually black) mixture first then add the MP after that, about a 50/50 mix. I really like this, especially on foam, and highly recommend it. I did also have some left over after base coating an item and I used it on some cardboard tiles I had made. These were unique because I cut a “river” into the pieces, so there was just the one layer left after taking out the two layers of corrugation. It did not seem to warp it hardly at all and stiffened it up quite nicely. The few pieces I have worked on since I started applying this technique have started off much nicer.
